Telephone Banking - Account management 24 hours a day
We’ve made some improvements to our telephone banking service so you can now pick up
the phone and check your balance whenever you want 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our improved telephone banking offers a fast-track automated service 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week. You can check your balance and load your MasterCard®.
If you need help you can speak to a customer account manager during the
contact centre opening times.
You can use our automated banking to:
- check your balance
- load your MasterCard®(s)
- Activate your new MasterCard®(s)
- Speak to a customer account management to set up standing orders or discuss your
account in detail (during our contact centre opening times)
Check your balance and load funds to your card
Checking your account and card balance has now got a lot easier and quicker. There is no need to speak to a customer account manager to do this.
All you need is your 16 digit card number from the front of your MasterCard®
Call
0871 811 1881, (calls cost 10p per minute from a BT landline but could be more from other networks and mobiles), select the option to check your balance and load funds to your card, enter your 16 digit card number, enter the required security answers using your keypad and your account and card balance will be read out to your over the phone.
You can also load funds from your billing account to your card using your telephone keypad.

Activate your new MasterCard®
If you have recently received your new MasterCard® in the post, you’ll need to activate it before you
can start using it.
It couldn’t be simpler to use our new automated service. All you need to do is enter the 16 digit
card number from the front of your MasterCard, enter the required security answers through your
keypad and your card will be activated. This will save you time as you won’t have to wait in a
queue to speak to a
customer service representative.
If you wish to view, amend or set up a standing order or view detailed statements and transaction reports, you can log in to
online banking 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
